WMSD Teacher is Honored in Little Rock

"I am so excited!" exclaimed Dr. Cheryl Ring as she walked into Governor Asa Hutchinson's mansion in Little Rock on Thursday, August 4.
Ring was one of 13 regional finalists honored with a banquet brunch. After hearing from Johnny Key, Secretary of Arkansas Department of Education, Gov. Hutchinson, and 2022 Arkansas Teacher of the Year Jessica Saum, Dr. Ring, members of her family, and colleagues were introduced to the other finalists. These educators were from all different backgrounds and areas of the state.
Even though, Dr. Ring was not named as a top 4 semifinalist for 2023 AR Teacher of the Year, she still will continue to impact the lives of those students she teaches at Academies of West Memphis.
WMSD extends gratitude to Dr. Ring for her hard work, dedication, and positivity. Congratulations on this major accomplishment!
