July 7, 2020
Dear West Memphis School District,
We realize that the COVID-19 pandemic has presented all of us with unprecedented challenges. There are still many uncertainties around us. The West Memphis School District and our entire staff remain dedicated to the safety & betterment of your child and our personnel.
Like all other school districts, we have followed guidance from the Department of Secondary and Elementary Education (DESE), the Arkansas Department of Health (ADH), and the Center for Disease Control (CDC) throughout the summer. All of these agencies and WMSD stand committed to opening school August 13, 2020.
WMSD will be offering two options for students this fall:
1) On-site campus instruction in the traditional format.
2) Virtual “at-home” instruction for our students who may feel this is a better option at this time.
We are asking all of our parents to take a moment to complete this quick survey to help us with our plans https://forms.gle/W9h8WjSQnLmxHkSb7
As a parent we realize you still have many questions. Please refer to www.wmsd.net/COVID19 for Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) and other related information. This is a fluid document that will be revised as we continue to receive guidance from the above mentioned agencies.
August 13th is just around the corner. We remain committed to continue learning and provide all the services for your child that we possibly can.
Take a quick moment to complete the survey to assist us in plans. On a personal note, I want to say thank you for the understanding, care, and support you have shown to our district. I look forward to seeing and serving our students on August 13th.
