Superintendent Eric Foister

It all began on December 2, 2024, when Eric Foister officially stepped into the role of Superintendent for the West Memphis School District. From day one, it was truly boots on the ground. He visited every school, met with faculty and staff, and quickly immersed himself in the district’s culture. He also introduced himself to the West Memphis community through social events and town hall meetings. Most importantly, he spent time with students—explaining his role, listening to their thoughts, and giving them space to ask questions and share their experiences.

“My vision for the West Memphis School District is to build a dynamic and inclusive educational community where every student has equal opportunities for success. Together, we will focus on student achievement by striving for continuous growth and embracing innovation while utilizing best practices that uplift our diverse student body. We will celebrate each achievement, big and small, creating a nurturing environment where every student’s potential is realized. By empowering our team and embracing inclusivity, we are building a brighter future for all students in West Memphis,” says Foister.

Congratulations, Superintendent Foister, on your first year. We are proud of you, grateful for your leadership, and inspired by the work you have accomplished thus far. We look forward to the future. You are truly Leaving Footprints for Success.
